Still using ‘lol’ online? You are the minority.
Looks like the once mighty LAUGH OUT LOUD is losing steam.
Apparently, we’re not lol-ing that much anymore. Or at least that’s not how we describe something funny in digital shorthand – texting, Facebook posts, etc.
According to a new report from Facebook, just under 2% of online “laughs” were of the LOL variety, while 51% of people wrote “haha” or maybe “hahahahaha”. The laughing emoji was used by 34% and 13% went with “hehe” to express laughter.
Sounds like we’re just a few years away from a generation of people wondering what “LOL” means all over again.
