Nola, a northern white rhino dies….leaves just 3 on our entire planet
The planet’s northern white rhinoceros population decreased by a quarter yesterday following the death of one of the remaining four in the world.
Nola, a 41-year-old northern white rhino, died at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park after she was treated for a bacterial infection and age-related health issues, according to the zoo.
Her condition worsened and zoo veterinarians made the decision to euthanize her.
That leaves three (2 female and 1 male) at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya.
