An accident in Mississippi sent a family to hospital, but also gave us a beautiful look at a real hero.

According to reports, a Lincoln SUV overturned several times and landed near an overpass.  One child was on the scene waiting to be transported after the four others and the mother were all sent to the hospital.

Firefighter Casey Lessard said he noticed the child, Gabriel, crying as he lay on the backboard.  Lessard lay down next to him and started playing “Happy Feet” on Netflix to take his mind off the traumatic moment.

“The other firefighters I work with, the EMTS and paramedics, the local cops and good Samaritans did just as much if not more than me when that call came out,” he said. “I just happened to be the guy in the photo. I’m not really one for all this attention.”

What a hero, and what a sweet moment!

**update: his mother Vanessa broke her spine and shoulder but is recovering. Two of the children were in critical condition but are now stable.  Gabriel was taken to a hospital in where he got several stitches.  All things considered, they’ll be OK!
