Ed Sheeran Lets Childhood Friend Contribute to His Album to Pay Off Her Mortgage

A British tabloid claims ED SHEERAN agreed to give an old childhood friend a songwriting credit on his last album ” (Multiply)”, so she could afford her mortgage.

That sounds incredibly generous . . . but this isn’t just some random friend.  Her name is Amy Wadge, and she’s a musician who collaborated with him before he made it big.  In fact, he put out an EP in 2010 called “Songs I Wrote with Amy”.

He says, quote, “She was going through financial troubles about a year ago . . . my album was nearly done . . . and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe version, so she could get a little bit of money and pay [her] bills.”

That song is called “Even My Dad Does Sometimes” . . . but the REAL story is that while they were hanging out, they jammed a little, and together they came up with “Thinking Out Loud”, which became a huge single.

Ed says, quote, “[‘Thinking Out Loud’] wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t come down from Wales to see me . . . now she never has to worry about money again.”
