Paul Walker’s father sues Porsche

Paul Walker’s father is suing car maker Porsche, filing the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.

Paul William Walker III alleges that Porsche advertised the vehicle as “a racing car licensed for use on the road.” But in fact the car “lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars or even Porsche’s least expensive road cars — features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash.”

Paul was killed in 2013 while riding as a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT.

The suit alleges

Walker’s father says the car should have had electronic stability control, a common feature in many cars today. The suit also charges the side door reinforcement was made of weaker materials than what is found in mass-market cars such as the Honda Civic.

Paul’s daughter Meadow also filed a lawsuit earlier this year.
