JLaw Calls Out “Sexist” Coverage of Versace Dress She Wore in Cold Weather
Jennifer Lawrence had to unfortunately and ridiculously defend her GROWN UP and ADULT WOMAN choices after some media outlets questioned her for wearing a sexy dress in cold weather while promoting her new movie Red Sparrow, in England on Tuesday.
Lawrence wrote a characteristically dry Facebook post. “This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended. That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I’m going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?”
She went on with a more serious tone saying, “This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism. Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward.”
Critics were implying Lawrence had zero say in choosing her get up, pointing out that her co-stars were allowed to wear coats and scarfs saying the poor Oscar award winning actress was FORCED to wear a sexy dress.
Lawrence went on to say she was only outside for five minutes in the 48-degree weather and said:
“Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold, THAT’S MY CHOICE TOO!”
