National Wildlife Week

APRIL 8 to APRIL 14 – Jack Miner Migratory Bird Foundation celebrates National Wildlife Week with a week of events taking place at the Sanctuary, 332 Road 3 West, Kingsville.

Events include:

April 8

7:30am-11:30am: Dress Down Sunday Pancake & Sausage Breakfast. Free admission, donate $5 and get a free coffee mug.

10am-4pm: Kingsport Environmental Raptor demonstration, kids’ activities, Essex Hunting Retriever Club demonstration, and tours of the Jack Miner Historic House and Museum.  Admission by donation.

April 10

12pm-2pm: Happy 153rd Birthday Jack Miner – stop by the historic house for birthday cake & to kick off phase two of The Jack Miner Drive Thru Art Gallery.

7pm:  Spring into your creative side with a DIY decoration for your home in the Jack Miner Heritage Centre. Limited to 10-15 participants. $10 fee – call 519-733-4034 to register.

 April 11

7pm: Walk & Talk hosted by naturalist & bird expert Phil Roberts. Meet in the Jack Miner Heritage Centre. Limited to 35 participants – call 519-733-4034 to register.

April 13

7pm: The Sun Parlour Folk Music Society proudly presents JP Cormier & Dave Gunning in the Playfair Stadium at the Jack Miner Sanctuary. Tickets are $25. Doors open at 7pm; concert at 8pm. Bring a cushion to sit on. Tickets/info: kingsvillefolkfest.org

April 14

5pm: Lakeside Park Pavilion, 315 Queen St., Kingsville hosts the Jack Miner Birthday Bash Fundraiser.  Tickets are $30, includes dinner and live music. Cash bar. Advanced tickets only – available at Jack Miner Sanctuary, 332 Road 3W., Kingsville;  Blondie’s Cleaners/Alterations by Lix, 49 Main St. E., Kingsville and Back In Motion Chiropractic, 22 Heritage Rd., Kingsville. 19 years and older event.
