Mix Mornings with Jay & Tori

That sorta rhymed!

I received some love on the list of my top 20 quarantine songs. Immediately after I shared it I remembered a ton of other songs that are a) relatable to current times and b) just good tunes!

So, low and behold my incremental list of Quarantunes to Get You Through:

  1. Let’s Stay Together – Al Green

We’ve been seeing all kinds of studies that are uncovering whether people are getting closer with their significant other during this time, or if the isolation is making couples want to call it quits.

Al Green & I hope that your quarantine experience is making you want to stay with your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife.

2. Lonely Boy – The Black Keys

I had a different Black Keys on my first round of songs and I cannot believe I forgot this hit. We are all lonely boys and girls right now, so crank this up and dance like the guy in the music video!

3.  You Sound Like You’re Sick – The Ramones

Hope you’re a fan of super literal songs! This one is too perfect to not include.

4. Harder to Breathe – Maroon 5

Another very literal one. Too harsh? Possibly. Still a great song!

5. Dancing With Myself – Billy Joel

Dance by yourself if you want to!  We all know even if you’re not alone in your home, you’re not gonna get your loved ones off the couch because they’re watching Tiger King.

6. Don’t You (Forget About Me) – Simple Minds

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Maybe call your loved ones so they know you haven’t forgot about them.

7.  Tired of Being Alone – Al Green

I had to double up on my Al Green this round of songs. The man was on to something, even if this was 30 years ago!

8. Miss You – The Rolling Stones

We’re all missing someone right now. Me? All the dogs at the park I can’t pet anymore… 🙁

9. I Want to Break Free – Queen

Don’t we all???!!! This is a great song, but don’t let it convince you to break quarantine! Just watch the iconic music video and stay in.

10. Fever – Carly Rae Jepsen

Last week it was The Black Key’s track Fever, this week we gotta give love to Carly Rae Jepsen.

11. Girls Night In – Rita Wilson

A great song by a COVID survivor herself! She’s also the inspiration behind the creation of this Quarantunes list, as Rita created a fantastic list of songs when she was isolating with hubby Tom Hanks.

12. Don’t Let Me Get Me – P!NK

Pink is another celebrity who we learned tested positive and has recovered from the virus.

I wanted to mention her and this song because I think it’s important that we’re reminded not to get in our own heads during this time. Isolation itself is hard. Reach out if you need support!

13. Lonely is the Night  – Billy Squier

It sure is Billy. Sad lyrics, but a great song to jam to!

14. Rolling With the Punches – The Blue Stones

We have to give some love to this local band! We’re all just rolling with the punches and hopefully following quarantine orders.

15. I Want to Hold Your Hand – The Beatles

As much as we may want to hold hands right now…it’s best if you refrain for the time being.

16. Paranoid – Post Malone

We’re all a little paranoid right now. Here’s a track to remind you that you’re not alone. Posty always gets it.

17. I Wanna Get Better – The Bleachers

This  is a new find for me, but boy is it relevant!

18. I Will Wait – Mumford & Sons

I like to think that the world is essentially on pause right now. I hope you can let some of your problems wait until after this pandemic is all over.

19. Bored to Death – Blink-182

There are only so many activities to partake in and to-do list items that you can check off. I’ve hit the “bored to death” button a few times already this quarantine.

20. Don’t Go Far – Charlie Cunningham

We’re gonna end of this list with a slow one. This is a sweet song, maybe to remind your loved one that they can go to the grocery store, but nowhere else.

And that’s all friends! I’m already compiling my list of songs to celebrate when this is all over. Stay tuned for that list that we can jam to hopefully sooner rather than later.

Stay safe & well Windsor-Essex!
