Mix Mornings BOOK CLUB! Week 1
Our week 1 books:
Jay’s review #1: All My Puny Sorrows by Miriam Toews
This was honestly one of the saddest books I’ve ever read, I was literally reduced to a sniveling ball of tears on at least 5 occasions. Oh, but it’s also hilarious. The journey these sisters and their families take is one that is so relatable and so heartbreaking and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Sad, funny, and oh yes… Canadian! You’ll cry your face off while laughing your ass off. And it’s set in my hometown of WINNIPEG, but don’t let that stop you.
Tori’s review #1: Verity by Colleen Hoover
Reading Colleen Hoover reminds me of watching something like Criminal Minds. You have to stop and think, who on Earth could be sick enough to even come up with these ideas?! But that really is the beauty in her books. They are brilliantly written and incredibly intense. I promise, Verity will take you for the ride of your life and by the end, you’ll be questioning EVERYTHING (this is my favorite kind of book). If you do give it a try, let me know…because I could discuss this book (especially the ending) forever!
