It’s April 22nd, which means it’s officially the 50th Annual Earth Day!

No, it’s not Earth’s 50th birthday (very funny Jay).  But it HAS been 50 years since it was established that this day as the date dedicated to preserving and celebrating our planet across the nation.

Needless to say, this is an Earth Day like no other. We’re not able to celebrate in ways we may have in the past, but there are still plenty of virtual resources that we can use to appreciate the planet.

We’ve compiled a list of binge-worthy movies, documentaries and docu-series that show how incredible our planet is. You may even learn something!

Both Canada & U.S. Netflix have some pretty incredible Nature & Ecology Documentaries. Disney + even has a fantastic sub-genre called Disneynature. We added some good Crave Original suggestions as well!

These range from animal documentaries, tours of the world’s most amazing natural destinations and more. You won’t be disappointed.

Some of our favorites include:

Feel Good Animals:

Our Planet

Our Planet Behind the Scenes

Absurd Planet

Night on Earth

72 Cutest Animals

Elephant

Dolphin Reef

Born In China (narrated by John Krasinski!)

Disney’s Earth

Sea of Life

Dancing With The Birds

The Crimson Wing

One’s That Make You Think:

Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things

SunGanges

Anthropocene: The Human Epoch

Things Explained: The World’s Water Crisis – This is an awesome series that provides quick recaps of topics people may find confusing. We recommend the whole series!

Sharkwater: Extinction – tread lightly, this one’s pretty serious.

Saving Pelican 895 – also quite heavy.

Jane

Terra

Nature & Landscape:

National Parks Adventure

Chasing Coral

The Most Unknown

Pacificum: Return to the Ocean

Waterschool

If you end up checking any of these out today, let us know which one and your thoughts on it. Stay safe & healthy Windsor-Essex!
