Last night the 2020 American Music Awards kicked off, hosted by Taraji P. Henson in L.A. Covid protocols were in place, and the night was seemingly a success!
Especially for the winners.
We’ll break down the full list of nominees & winners below…but here are some of our favorite moments
1. Belle Biv Devoe?!
Who saw that coming?!! Not us!
But it was nice to see all three reunite for a performance. As expected, Poison brought the house down.

2. Nelly’s 20th Anniversary of Country Grammar Performance
The guy took a break from tearing up the dance floor on Dancing With The Stars to perform. It was really good, and mega-nostalgic.
We unfortunately don’t have a video of his performance either, but check out the music video for old times sake:
3. Taylor Swift’s Big Win (And Speech)
The biggest award of the night is of course, the Artist of the Year Award.
It was no surprise that she took the title, but it was her speech that gave fans something big to be excited about.
Did she just confirm the rumors that she’s re-recording some old Taylor tracks?? HELL YES SHE DID!
4. Pop Song of the Year…
We’ve been debating who would get this title for quite some time now.
You know on our own Hit List, we see a couple tracks holding on to the top spot for extended amounts of time.
These songs include Say So (Doja Cat), Blinding Lights (The Weeknd), Don’t Start Now (Dua Lipa) and Circles (Post Malone), which were all nominees for this title.
But it was Dua who took the title!
